Make-A-Wish Australia

Background
Make-A-Wish Australia is a not-for-profit charity that works with critically ill children and their families to help grant life-changing wishes. These wishes then become a Wish Day for these children, where they get the opportunity to live out their wish - no matter how big or small. As part of their fundraising activities, Make-A-Wish run their annual Wish Big campaign during tax-time, encouraging business and individuals to donate. For its 2025 advertising campaign, the charity required new video content for use across paid social and broadcast.

Approach
Sorting through hours of video content and b-roll captured across many Wish Days between 2024 - 2025, scripts and storyboards for Wish Big 15-second and 1-minute campaign video were delivered to and approved by Make-A-Wish. The main edit showcased the joy and excitement experienced by several children on their Wish Days, including a call-to-action for donations, and a second long edit followed the story of 6-year-old Aubree and her wish to meet a real life mermaid whilst undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
The video content helped to achieve the most successful Wish Big campaign to date. The charity surpassed their fundraising goal 4-days before the end of the campaign.
